The exhibition will run for two weeks and feature new work from internationally exhibited artists Charlotte Harris and Leigh Mulley.

“Whether in my portraiture or still life work I aim to make the subject come alive to the viewer. Through colour, texture and composition I like to draw attention to and give a platform for the different qualities of objects. I am particularly fascinated by fabric and its many characteristics and nuances, a subject I explore extensively in this exhibition. Also reflected in the work on show is my love of painting glass, vegetables, traditional games such as marbles and dominoes, and portraits.”

A new newsletter has been published featuring my new work and the commissioned portrait of Brenda Billington.

Brenda Billington is the outgoing President of the Royal College of Opthalmologists, having held the position since May 2006. The painting was commissioned to hang in the Boardroom of the College in London.  In this painting I wanted her determination to show through, as well as her caring nature.

The first in a new series of still life work, ‘Bundle I’ returns to my interest in material and the use of strong lighting.

The Portrait Gala  was held on 3rd March and included the Mystery Portrait Postcard auction, for which I painted a piece (Mystery Portrait No.108). Over £15000 was raised and will go toward the NPG education programme, “enabling the Gallery to bring to life the remarkable stories of achievment that provide inspiration to learners of all ages.”  All the postcards are available to view on the NPG website.

I am pleased to announce that I will be exhibiting once again at the Affordable Art Fair in October with Will’s Art Warehouse.  The fair takes place from 22nd-25th October in Battersea Park, London and features contemporary art for under £3000.  Further information and news on the work I will be exhibiting will follow closer to the event.

My February newsletter  is out now and features paintings of Frank Brake and Logan Ellison.
